The basis for building the whole NDS as education version was Metamorphic Rock – commonly known as Slate. On the other hand, the exchangeable specimen with the possibility of unscrewing and exchange for another one is a  spiffy deep blue Azurite with greenish Malachite from Bidjovagge in northern Norway
